From the manufacturer

About the Cummins Onan P9500DF EFI The Cummins Onan P9500DF EFI is a powerful generator able to run from either gasoline or propane, and it includes EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection). With a continuous power supply of 7.5kW and a peak power output of 9.5kW, this generator easily powers large appliances or power tools. This makes it ideal for powering a large RV or for use on a construction site. Dual Fuel for Both Gasoline and Propane As a dual fuel generator, it’s easy to switch between gasoline and propane fuel. The built-in gasoline tank holds up to 6.6 gallons, enabling the portable 9.5kW generator to run for nearly 14.5 hours at 25% power. The generator also connects with an external propane tank of any size. A 20lb propane tank delivers 10.8 hours of power at 25%. Electronic Fuel Injection – Better Performance As an EFI generator, the automatic fuel injection allows for greater fuel efficiency during initial startup, where a choke would normally be used to regulate the fuel-to-air ratio to warm the engine. Cummins EFI generators automatically calculate the right amount of fuel and air for every moment, especially in cold climates that need a longer warm-up period. This reduces maintenance and increases the elevation limit to 13,000ft. How to Start the P9500DF EFI It’s possible to start this generator with a single button press, a remote key fob, or a backup pull cord. The built-in button is an easy way to start the generator as it only requires a single press. This button both turns on and turns off the generator. For remote starting, the included key fob starts the generator up to 99ft away. The generator also includes pull start capability for use in the unlikely event that the start button and remote key fob do not work. Safety Features of the Onan P9500DF EFI The Onan P9500DF EFI includes multiple safety features. These include CO (carbon monoxide) detection and CARB (California Air Resources Board) certification. Both propane and gasoline generators produce CO as a byproduct. This invisible, odorless gas kills in minutes, so it’s important to prevent its buildup. The Onan P9500DF EFI continuously monitors the gas levels in the air, and if the CO levels get too high, the generator automatically turns off. This prevents the gas from accumulating, keeping the environment around the generator safe as it powers connected loads. CARB Certification for California Residents California maintains strict standards for CARB certification. These regulations control the use of devices that emit harmful gasses or other toxins and determine if these devices can be used during a Public Safety Power Shutoff. The Onan P9500DF EFI has undergone rigorous testing to become CARB certified, making it legal for use in California and other states adhering to CARB guidelines.
