MidNite Solar’s Durable and Overperforming Little Rosie for Mobile Installations MidNite Solar is known for resilient products designed and manufactured in the USA. The MidNite engineers designed the Little Rosie M inverter and charger to provide 3.6kW continuous output with a surge capacity of 5.4kW. tested this surge capacity and ran the Little Rosie M at 98A and 120V while it sat in an environmental chamber set to 60°C (140°F). This 11.76kW far exceeds its expected capacity, and this is the MidNite way. The Little Rosie is an off-grid and mobile inverter ideal for supporting large appliances such as air conditioning, pumps, or air compressors. Built on the same platform as the MidNite Rosie 7048RE, the Little Rosie’s ability to handle significant overloads means reliable power for even the most demanding equipment. This inverter is designed to withstand temperatures up to 135°F, allowing the Little Rosie to power large devices such as A/C units from a small, unconditioned RV compartment. This high temperature rating means the Little Rosie can activate cooling appliances even in humid conditions. This inverter is designed to output AC power with less than 5% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). THD measures the fluctuation in frequency and voltage. Power with high THD can damage sensitive electronics such as computers or TVs, but the Little Rosie M provides safe power for every device. The Little Rosie M’s build quality is exceptional. PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) on indoor rated inverters don’t require conformal coating, but it’s an included detail that protects the inverter from humidity or other corrosive elements. The Little Rosie M’s silicon carbide MOSFETs are the highest quality, and all the fasteners are stainless steel. Stainless steel is more expensive than the alternatives, but it is more durable, resistant to corrosion, and lasts longer. This detail may seem small, but it shows extensive care in the inverter’s build and design. At only 15lbs and 6×20.25×9in, the Little Rosie RE is ideal for installation in an RV or other mobile system. This UL 1741 and UL 458 compliant off-grid inverter can accept AC input from the grid, a generator, or another AC source. The Little Rosie RE has two modes, Inverter mode and Standby mode. Inverter mode powers all loads from connected batteries, making it ideal for fully off-grid systems. Standby mode enables the Little Rosie RE to pass up to 30A from an external AC source to charge batteries and power loads. This is useful in installations connected to a generator, the electrical grid, or another AC source. If the AC power source disconnects through a grid failure or other malfunction, the Little Rosie RE continues powering loads from the batteries. The Little Rosie features battery charger backoff and AC support. Battery charger backoff allows the Little Rosie to reduce the amount of current sent to batteries, up to the programmable maximum AC input limit. The Little Rosie’s AC support feature permits current draw from the battery to blend with AC input, sharing the load. These features combined mitigate the chances of overloading an incoming AC connection entirely while ensuring it is fully utilized. Two terminal pairs (AUX 1+/AUX 1-) and (AUX 2+/AUX2-) can be configured to be inputs or outputs. They can output a DC voltage trigger source for external equipment and accessories such as auto-starting a generator (2-wire signal), a vent fan, diversion loads, or lights. These AUX circuits output 12Vdc at a maximum of 300mA. Various AUX modes provide an optional start-delay and off-delay timer to run a function for a period of time. The Little Rosie requires the MNGP2 for programming the AUX terminals. Monitoring and setup of the Little Rosie is easy with the addition of the MidNite MNGP2 Remote Display Panel.
